What does your job involve?  When did you decide you wanted a career in motorsport, and why?

What's the most rewarding thing about your job? To see a new car being built from parts, the satisfaction of the end product coming together from all the component parts.

When did you decide you wanted a career in motorsport and why? I had a keen interest in motorsport from a young age, rallying was popular in Scotland when I was growing up and I got the bug then.

What subjects and courses did you take? English, maths, metal work and technical drawing at school, followed by a year at technical college, and an apprenticeship in a car dealership. Working to tight deadlines for long hours and spending a lot of time away from home - at times 5 weeks for one event.

What has been the biggest challenge of your career?  Working to tight deadlines for long hours and spending a lot of time away from home - at times 5 weeks for one event.

Who was your inspiration and why?  I was inspired by watching coverage of the RAC rally late at night on TV, then when some big British names were competing like Colin McRae and Richard Burns it all seemed very exciting.  Little did I know, a few years later I would be working on the same team as Colin McRae!
